Firewise Community Application submitted

Hi,

Although we hopefully will do some more work this summer, I have submitted our application for recognition as a Firewise Community. Our minimum investment was $2,896, we got up to $4,196. Our volunteer hours (valued at $20+ an hour), green waste fees and transporting, and equipment costs did the trick.

  1. J says:

By Order of the Fire Chief

    Effective August 1, 2018

Recreational Fires / Campfires / Warming Fires will be prohibited within the boundaries of the Peninsula Fire

Protection District between August 1, 2018 thru the end of declared fire season, as set forth by Cal Fire, and normal

    backyard burning is again allowed.

By definition, this includes ALL forms of open fire from fire pits, campfire rings and any commercially available fire

devices that allow wood to be burned as the fuel, even if the fire is totally screened in. This does not prohibit

barbecues or other portable cooking devices as long as wood is not the primary fuel for said devices.

Uniform Fire Code: Article 11, Section 1102.4.5.

    Fire Chief
